Designing Modern UI with Lit Web Components
Просмотров 28119 часов назад
At GitKraken, we use Lit to build sharable and reusable Web Components. This allows us to keep branding and UX consistent from app to app within our DevEx Platform. In this video, we'll explain a bit about the history of Web Components and what the APIs look like. We will also go over why libraries like Lit and Stencil exist to make working with Web Components smoother. If you'd prefer to read ...

Understanding Software Development Sprint Health With Backlog View in Team Insights for Jira
Mind-blowing
Thanks! It was fun to make.
So this is used to share changes WITHOUT having to commit them first?
It's hilarious to think that kids these days would even bother to learn something as intricate and so-2000s as Git. The only thing they'd care about is "master" vs. "main".
why did you set your shell prompt like that, there is supposed to be a space after the $ lol.
Very interesting!
Amazing software, thank you for making and releasing this.
is that pete davidson?
I like this version of Pete "Dev"idson
Personally, I like SolidElement better. It's comparable to lit in performance/bundle-size, and allows react devs to feel more at home with JSX and signals.
I wish solid elements had docs :) I used it on a smaller project
@cintron3d Oh interesting. I hadn't seen that before. Very cool. I quite like Stencil as well since they handle lazy loading in a cool way.
@@JLarky Yeah it looks like the docs are limited to what's in the README and just a simple example component.
How do you cherry pick multiple commits and add them to the checked out branch?
While GitKraken Desktop only supports cherry picking 1 commit at a time, you can cherry pick multiple commits at once with GitLens. From VS Code with GitLens enabled, open the command palette with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + P if on Windows/Linux or Cmd + Shift + P if on Mac. Then type "GitLens: git cherry pick" and filter to select commits.
omg the designer is so real!! hahaha well done
genuinely hope that instructor is on to some amazing things in life, hard to imagine he isnt with his deft usage of words, unbelievable charisma, and undeniable handsomeness
Very well explained. thanks :)
Maybe you should tell people that you are paying for it? Because "Commit Graph" on 1:07 is a pro feature
a very simplified explaination. Thanks
i didn't understand what is cherry picking and i still don't understand what is it after watching... not clear at all
so where do I put my OAth key to get started?
Hey there! We wrote up this help article with some steps that could do the trick. help.gitkraken.com/gitkraken-client/github-gitkraken-client/#oauth-integration-with-github
All this goes to waste when you can only buy yearly subscription, not monthly.
can you guys share a playlist of songs you use for your videos? Pretty nice selection. Good video too :)
Can I use mutiple git accounts with it? I have a git profile for my personal projects and my work projects, I was wondering if this is UI can be used for mutiple git accounts, I already have a gitKraken credentials linked with my personal github account.
Yes! Consider using Profiles to easily switch between work and personal projects: ruclips.net/video/ZgYjeaJDbX8/видео.html
@@GitKraken This is great, thanks! 😊
Would have preferred if GK made a replacement for Jira. Its bloated, slow, cumbersome and expensive. The only decent tool Atlassian offer is OpsGenie
what is this tool ? how i find this graph
That's the GitKraken Commit graph inside GitKraken Desktop! Check it out here: www.gitkraken.com/git-client
GitKraken is a good useless tool. If you could you would charge people for breathing. I'm so sick of subscription services.
Love this new feature! Can't wait to start using it!
How can I filter by only 1 branch? I don't want to see others branches
What about a teammate who doesn't have git kraken, what's their experience? I personally love GK but it's not mandated for use or included in our budget so most of the people I work with use other things.
Hey there! If a user doesn't have a GitKraken account when they click to view a Code Suggestion, they'll be greeted with a page to sign up and give it a try. There's even an option to sign in with GitHub to make the signup a bit more painless.
This was really fun to make.
@cmgriffing Great to see more of your face, even more great to see you recommending this awesome tool that saved my bacon more times than I'm confortable to admit.
@@wesleycoder Thanks for the kind words!
What do yo use for animations?
Gitlens for Jetbrains? Please take my money.
is there a nice overview which features are jira cloud specific and which ones are also working on data center?
Literally nobody: Me: Listening to the sick ahh beat and not focusing on the tutorial.
Everything you've described is backwards... You haven't altered the DEV branch! You make it sound like the FEATURE branch has been added to the DEV branch!
In my case "gkc" instead "gk" in terminal.
supporter since beta days! pro for years! This is really one big leap! congrats!
Been a pro subscriber for years. This is a great update. Is support for Gitlab coming in the future for performing MR reviews?
For me the picture is not changing at all. Its always showing this default ugly pic even tho I updated my profile with the new pic
Hey there! The commit graph will use your gravatar, and we have more info about how it works here: help.gitkraken.com/gitkraken-client/profiles/#changing-avatars
@@GitKraken So whats the point in changing the avatars within the gitkraken? Because gravatar is horrible thing to have. For example right now its impossible to change gravatar as their system is in shambles. Why cant we upload our custom ones?
we have close to 30k repos and git kraken plugin not able to handle these many repos? how can we proceed?
Hello! Unfortunately, 30k repositories is a lot of data to process, and will lead to various issues. Please see help.gitkraken.com/git-integration-for-jira-cloud/known-performance-limitations-gij-cloud/ for details. Luckily, there are some strategies that we can suggest for working with that size of configuration, so we suggest that you open a request with our support team, and they will be happy to discuss these strategies with you. You can open the request here: help.gitkraken.com/git-integration-for-jira-cloud/gij-cloud-contact-support/
doesn't wokr anymore
ty
But the question is: Why should I use Github?
When I run the `gk focus` in CLI it takes me to a focus view for the GitHub account aghosh0605... This is not my account.?!?
kraken dont let you use it with private repos
centimeters griffin
LOL
Very well done.
This is an AWESOME video! Thank you for the explanation!!!
Thanks! It was fun to dig into these things and have some of the dev team explain things such as the -z flag.
Just don't ask about the --nexxus flag. 😉
@@Mr_Wallet nothing to see there 😜
You mention that one of the reasons you are migrating from libgit2 is because it's maintained mostly by just a single person. So rather than allocating some apparently-needed resources to a project your company relies on, you are divesting your reliance on it (yes, not fully). This feels like xz utils situation is waiting to happen once again. xkcd 2347 all over. 😕
We are just a small startup compared to the larger providers that are also utilizing libgit2. I think it's a bit unfair to expect us to foot the bill when the big companies aren't doing so. I agree that open-source funding is in dire need of an overhaul.
You say that is makes using git safer but you didn't clarify why. Also aren't these features available as part of the git command line?
While some GitLens features are available in the CLI, many things in the video that are not built into in the CLI such as Hover support, Codelens, interacting with Git using a GUI. These are all features that help users better utilize Git, which reduces the chances of version control errors.
Terrible
Why?
I might been blind or missed it but - seams theres no way to see the diff between branches? some context - I'd like to verify all diff before the merge to master. (Therefore all commits in that branch vs whats on the master) - currently looking a for a way to do that, and was hoping this video will show where to look for that.
Hey there! If you open the repo in GitKraken to render the graph, you can hold down the Cmd (or Ctrl for Windows and Linux) to select the 2 commits at the head of each branch. That should give you the diff between branches
many thanks, for the reply @GitKraken. This will still show the differences between two commits. I was looking for an option to see if it will summarize all commits from the branch versus what's on the master.
спасибо)
